Dan,
The acutions can be at any time, Monday through Friday, while the Courthouse is open.
The auction is held by a third party, the Substitute Trustee of the Deed of Trust, and they schedule auctions as they can.
Some of the paralegals do auctions in multiple counties, so they do tend to run a schedule.
There tend to be auctions on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The bulletin board at the courthouse lobby has the auction notices pinned to it, and they are organized by numerical date.
It is worth a trip to see the set-up.

As far as past results, I have yet to find a good and easy source. It is easier to track a property or two than to keep track of the sales. The attornies' sites are mostly poorly updated.
The Clerk of Courts may have a better record if you visit their office on the 12th floor.

Very interesting. Thanks for the summary. Do they do the auction every day or only on select days? Do you know if you can peruse the history of the auctions? I'd love to just see a month or two of auction results.
